This desk is an original twin pedestal partner desk meaning it is specially designed for two people to share, you would either have your business partner or your secretaire on the opposite side. The front side has the traditional nine drawer combination, the back side has five drawers of a standard side and two double filing drawers, usually you can alternate the pedestals meaning you can flip one round so both sides have one filing drawer. The top is green leather, it is nicely patinated and has aged well

This was made by REH Kennedy of Ipswich, they have been hand making campaign furniture to the highest standard for over 100 years. They were Harrods London oldest concession retailing there for 87 years

In terms of the condition, the hardwood frame and leather top have been deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished. The desk has a good honest period patination with honest age and use general marks here and there. What is strange is the pedestals look to have been painted, they are a different colour to the top which you can see on the sides

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
