Antique 19th Century English Georgian campaign writing slope, box or travel desk. Made of walnut feautring rectangular form with brass banding. Opens to purple velvet interior with multiple storage compartments and writing surfaces.
At one point in its history, this slope belonged to a Carrie Gilman of Philadelphia. A laminated newspaper clipping from her double wedding, and her brothers death were inside.
