We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning rare and original early Victorian Holland and Son’s mahogany double sided library table or partner desk fully stamped. A very rare and luxury desk made by one of the two finest cabinet makers in British history. The desk is double sided as you can see, the drawers are full sized so there is no wasted space, the middle drawer on the left side is stamped Holland and Son’s and the locks have the correct stamps for the period, the castors are stamped Cope & Collingson who made the finest castors of the Victorian era, there work was so good they were the only company Howard & Son’s would allow to make castors for their chairs The desk is in Fine order throughout, it’s in the original unrestored condition with the original finish, we have cleaned waxed and polished it but that’s it, the patina is 100% period. The oxblood leather top is in nice order and complements the mahogany timber well The desk will have normal patina marks based on honest age and fair use
