Vintage Design
Slightly trapezoidal double-curved body with volute feet on the front and overhanging profiled top plate. Three-tiered construction with 2 large drawers at the bottom and 2 smaller side drawers at the top.
Probably original key plates. The extravagant brass handles on the lower two drawers were probably installed in the 19th century or early 20th century and, although not the original handles, enhance the piece of furniture for their uniqueness and beautiful workmanship.
89 cm high, 134.5 cm wide, 65 cm deep.
Two impact stamps with “JME H. Hansen” on the back of the chest of drawers indicate its origin Paris in the middle of the 18th century.
JME stands for “Jurande des Menuisiers Ébénistes”, belonging to the community of craftsmen who checked the quality in Paris in the 2nd half of the 18th century. As a result, these master carpenters were also officially recognized for the royal court.
Hubert Hansen was a master in Paris from 1747 and died in 1756.
