19th Century, possibly Ceylonese, carved hardwood trunk of good proportions. Having its delightful original paint which remains intact.
The hinged lid is intricately carved with a lion’s crest and foliate design. Carved panels to the front and sides, standing on large, squashed bun feet, with its original iron carrying handles.
