A 2011 limited edition color etching by the American artist Tony Fitzpatrick (born 1958). Titled The Map of Mercy, this abstract work depicts a blue and black circle bisected by an arrow. Surrounding the blue circle are images of arrows, suns, and other colorful designs. Signed “T.F.” and dated to the lower right, the print is titled to the lower center and numbered 6/45 to the lower left. The print is displayed in a black frame and a white mat.

A Chicago artist, Fitzpatrick’s work is predominantly inspired by Chicago street culture. Fitzpatrick worked as an actor, radio host, bartender, and boxer before turning to art as a career. In 1992, he opened his own printmaking studio that also serves as an exhibition space. His works are part of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the National Museum of American Art in Washington, DC, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.

We are selling this rare Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock triptych. This woodblock print is by famed maker Kunisada Toyokuni III. The print is of the Fox Lady of Kuzunoha and displayed in triptych form of three separate woodblocks with signatures, probably the original printing from 1852.

Condition:Fading and water damage throughout. Margins of prints have been trimmed for display. Laid down on backing with some vertical creases.
