French 19th Century Charles X Style Ormolu Centerpiece with Pot Pourri Top

A stunning and extremely high quality French 19th century Charles X st. ormolu centerpiece with pot pourri top. The centerpiece is raised by a triangular base with concave sides and striking and unique double lion paw feet. Above are striking foliate and open wing designs with maidens in armor centering beautiful family crests and a cabochon border above, with a finely chased central fut. At the top are four elegant scrolled arms accented with foliate and rosettes, centered by a beautiful pierced removable lid. The intricately scrolled pierced lid is accented with a crown designed top that can be removed to view the ormolu lined interior. All original fire gilt throughout.

French Charles X Period Ormolu And Mirror Centerpiece Plateau

A most impressive and large scale French 19th century Charles X Period Ormolu and Mirror centerpiece plateau, signed Dunouy Fait a Paris. The Sur Tout de Table is raised by three double demi lune Ormolu supports below blocks which are decorated by musical instruments all below a raised lyre with hanging ribbons. The frieze of the plateau has a recessed center with scrolled grape vines. Above are richly decorated pierced grape vine garlands with a central urn filled with blossoming flowers and ripe fruits. At each end and flanking the lyres are fanciful cornucopias with an animal head at the bottom while the top is also filled with blossoming flowers and rip fruit. The signature stamp can be found on the inside base of one of the lyres.

Victorian Set of Four Sterling Silver Candlesticks

A magnificent, fine and impressive, composite set of four Victorian English sterling silver candlesticks in the Charles II style; an addition to our Victorian silverware collection.

These magnificent antique Victorian candlesticks have been crafted in the Charles II style.

The stepped square capital of each candlestick retains the original hallmarked push fit sconce.

The capitals of these Victorian candlesticks are supported by impressive circular bosses onto cylindrical Doric style columns.

The impressive column of each candlestick surmounts an impressive feature waisted knop and swept square base.

Each candlestick does not have a weighted base.

One pair of candlesticks were crafted by George Fox in 1875 and it can be assumed that the owner commissioned the second matching pair, created by Robert Dicker in 1893.

Condition
These candlesticks are an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional condition.
The full hallmarks struck to surface of the George Fox pair are all clear. The pair of candlesticks made by Robert Dicker have full hallmarks.
