Made for the hall as a cloak cupboard but has spent most it’s life being used as a wardrobe for folded linens. A very unique shallow entrance wardrobe designed in Italy by Umberto Mascagni. This piece features a grey colored vinyl doors with red and black decorated handles, centered by a large rotating mirror. The interior lined with elegant brass coat hangers. Excellent vintage condition. An interesting example of midcentury Italian design In 1952 Umberto Mascagni created a new way of producing furniture using new materials such as PVC and anodized aluminum. This was provocative considering the market at that time. His furniture was sold by Harrods, London, 1952-1955.

This large impressive solid oak armoire features crisp, chip carvings and floral motifs to its facade and decorative shaped panel doors.

Below the doors is a full-width drawer with hand-forged steel handles. This sits above a decorative carved and shaped apron.

The main doors have steel escutcheons with its original working lock and key.

The armoire stands on elegant cabriole legs and has pegged construction on all joints.

Inside there are three full-width solid pine shelves. Upon the middle shelf is a steel hook to keep the doors closed.

The polished surfaces have a beautiful undulating ripple created by the cabinet-maker’s use of an adds in the production of each plank of oak. This traditional method of carpentry shows evidence of its early age.

The doors, drawer and pediment cornice will be packed separately for transporting. The piece will require a two man lift.

The cabinet consists of three parts, top, bottom.
and body. You can see the division quite well on the picture of the back wall.
Good used condition with small traces of use,
partially supplemented, damaged, with missing parts, shrinkage cracks, old restored see pictures.
The piece of furniture has no active worm infestation.

Oak cabinet designed by carl malmsten for the Swedish factory åfors möbelfabrik in the 1970s. Excellent condition, stable, with minimal signs of wear. Conforms to the vintage condition.

Mid Century G Plan E Gomme Vintage Teak Wardrobe in excellent vintage condition. A quality wardrobe with match grain teak, original brass handles and spacious interior hanging space with the original brass rail. E Gomme Stamp to the inside right door. Edged with a darker afromosia teak frame which gives a nice contrast to the body of the wardrobe. Solid and sturdy legs with brass leveller feet which are sturdy and solid. Original mirror to the left interior door which has no damage although there is some tarnish ageing as shown. Exceptional craftsmanship throughout as one would expect from the maker, the inside of the wardrobe is in beautiful condition and has been thoroughly cleaned ready for use in the home. Lovely tone and grain throughout the only slight imperfections to note is some slight wear to the underside of the handles through natural use however they are not immediately noticeable unless on close inspection as they are under the handle lip and images are enhanced. Bicentennial Bonnetiere from the Loire Valley in blond cherry wood, opening with a carved and molded door with a charming asymmetrical pattern ending with scrolls. At two thirds of the door we find a crosspiece in the same spirit as the molding in the upper part. A beautiful original cut iron entrance accompanies an original lock and key also in perfect working order. On the right, the original iron hinges have 3 fasteners.
On each side of the facade we observe a slightly rounded foot composed of three flutes ending in a snail foot.
This bonnetière will be noticed by its inlaid crosspieces. The upper crosspiece is decorated with a rectangle composed of boxwood heart elements. In the center, a rhombus mixing light and dark wood is surrounded by wind stars. The bottom rail has the same composition.
The interior of this charming chest of drawers is composed of 4 shelves made of solid wood on cleats and large racks.
The sides of this piece of furniture are equipped with two large panels of vertical wire separated by a small panel of horizontal wire.
The quality of its wood and the finesse of its decorations make this cupboard a remarkable piece of furniture that will delight you with its shimmering color and charisma.
