An attractive French 19th century Charles X period Ormolu and Crystal chandelier. The four arm chandelier has a bottom ormolu mount with designs of intertwined cornucopias filled with blossoming flowers and central finial. The mount above holds the circular cut crystal bowl with diamond shape cuts and emits a warm glow from the two interior bulbs. The bowl is supported by a wide satin and burnished Ormolu band with a bottom border of palmettes. The mid section is decorated by berried laurel branches and diamond shaped designs flanked by the scrolled arms with stunning scrolled acanthus leaves. Above are four wonderfully detailed mounts of charming putti seated in a chariot being pulled by swans amidst butterflies and clouds. Leading up are four elegant oval chains joined at the lovely top crown with six palmettes. All original gilt throughout.
