Made from coromandel with brass strap work fittings and flush handles typical of campaign furniture of the time.
A working Bramah lock with its original key.
Vacant brass cartouche on the top.
Blue velvet lined interior housing four lead cut crystal decanters.
Circa 1880 in date.
It is in very good vintage condition, everything works as it should. There is some wear commensurate with age, mainly on the top where there is an old split in the wood and a small area has lifted but isn’t loose. The top also has some wear to the varnish. Two of the decanters are the same and two are slightly different examples but very similar so at least some have been replaced over the years. All are free from damage and are usable.
Closed the box measures 28cm high x 25cm wide x 25cm deep.
