An Interesting Antique Pine Medical / Microscope Slide Cabinet with 48 Drawers, c1900s
The cabinet was previously housed at University College London (UCL) and references Joseph Maina Mungai. It still contains a number Neurology slides!
The cabinet is extremely well built and heavy, but does show signs of wear to the top and sides, as well and the drawers.
‘Joseph Maina Mungai was the first African to become Dean of the School of Medicine at the University of Nairobi. Mungai completed his medical studies program of the University College of London (UK), from which he received his medical and surgical degrees (MB., Ch.B.) in 1964. He also completed his doctorate (PhD) studies while in London.’
