a Charles X gilt bronze mantel clock with Cupid and a dog on its hind legs barking / jumping / or begging, the figures flank the rectangular clock, the dog appears to be trying to get the basket on top of the clock, Cupid may be missing something from his outstretched right hand, perhaps his torch? his bow and quiver of arrows rest near the fruit / flower basket, there are cracks in the porcelain face of the clock visible in the posted images, the pendulum is missing, the clock works are stamped BECHOT and 3655 B which is also stamped on the back of the gilt case towards the bottom, the gilt clock sits on a wooden base and is covered by a glass dome, France, 19th century
