A unique piece from a short period of time in French furniture making, this early nineteenth century French Charles X period mahogany vitrine or bookcase features fine lines of lemon wood inlay outlining the face and each side of the cabinet. Intricately scrolled leaves in lemon wood detail the crown, door, and lower drawer. Its glass door is fitted with two mahogany X’s with central rosettes and opens to allow access to its interior with three adjustable shelves. Includes one key. c. 1824-1830.
