Contemporary Design
Foamed is a shelving unit with a soft skin. Instead of having a rigid shape and feeling, Foamed invites you to squeeze and touch it. By having a basic grid structure, all attention is focused on the imagination, that the entire structure is made of one piece of foam. The glass shelves seem to be squeezed by the foam construction, making it even more clear that this is a structure without a fixed skin. The project tries to raise thoughts about the contradiction of something which looks optically heavy, while it is made of material that weighs almost nothing. Foamed is available in every RAL color.
