An extremely elegant French 19th century Charles X st. ormolu and silvered bronze andiron. The andiron is raised by a mottled base and displays impressive rich pierced ormolu patterns and very elegant designs to each side and at the center. Among them are fine rinceaux movements and elegant foliate movements, wheat, tied ribbons and charming baskets all set on an ormolu back plate. Above is a silvered bronze arrow with ormolu head and fletching seemingly piercing two extremely decorative and wonderfully executed acorn finials. At each side are impressive cornucopias with fine and richly chased floral arrangements tapering down to a handsome rams head.
