French Charles X crystal and ormolu mantel clock signed Lepine et Cie a Paris. This is a fabulous and very unusual mantel clock from circa 1820. The glass is certainly Baccarat and in perfect condition. The dish has a watertight fit and could be used to hold flowers in water if required. The ormolu is original and the casting very Fine. Lovely early 8 day movement with silk suspended pendulum, bell strike on the hour and half by means of countwheel. Gilt dial with white convex porcelain annular ring. Dial signed Lepine et Cie a Paris working at “Place des Victoires”.
