A Charles X period ormolu clock representing a winged genie playing the lyre in acanthus leaves populated by dolphins. The dial, decorated with two nymphs carrying a lyre on an altar, indicates the hours in black Roman numerals. The oval base is decorated with music trophies and laurel wreaths and rests on four small fluted feet decorated with flowers. The wire clock is decorated with a finely chiselled butterfly. The whole is placed on a black wooden base. This clock has a dynamic composition and a lyrical impulse that gives it great elegance.
