Vintage Design
Pair of Louis XVI style flat-back armchairs in gilded and curved wood. Theback in form of a gendarme’s hat and the seat are adorned with friezes of water leaves and pearls. The ar supports, slightly behind the leg line, are carved with an acanthus leaf, pearl frieze, flutings and rosette. The four tapered legs with round section are decorated with flutes, rings and frieze of stylized leaves. They end in spinning tops and have, in upper part, a narrowing. Connecting pieces are decorated with a rosette.
