The lithograph print poster is published by The Ministere Des Travaux Publics, Des Transports Et Du Tourisme, printed in France3 in 1962 in an unnumbered limited edition of 5000 by Mourlot Imp. Paris. Published by and for The French Government to promote tourism in Nice and The Cote D’Azur internationally. It features an iconic artwork image created by Chagall in 1962 titled ” Nice, Soleil Fleurs – La Baie Des Anges ” ( Nice, Sun Flowers – The Bay of Angels ).
The Cote D’Azur and Nice also known as The French Rivera, is located on The Mediterranean coastline in The South of France. The rare out of print large format framed lithograph print French travel poster measures 26 3/8″ W X 39 1/4″ H X 1 3/8″ D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern recessed beveled detailed matte eggshell finish navy marine blue wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent ” like new ” condition. The poster print is in excellent ” like new ” clean vintage condition consistent with age, very light signs of handling, and very light minor surface wear in the lower margin text area.
