This mid-nineteenth century French Charles X period buffet d’appui, or tall buffet, is constructed of bird’s eye maple and has a beveled black marble top. An inlaid walnut scrolling leaf motif on the front as well as fine lines of inlaid walnut create a beautiful contrast between the light and dark tones of the woods, a refined example of the Restauration period craftsmanship. This piece has two doors that open to reveal two interior shelves. Standing at 47.5 inches in height, this handsome buffet is sure to make a statement in any interior, circa 1850. Includes key with functioning lock.
