Very large & impressive square coffee table featuring four ”the flying horse of Gansu” horses from solid bronze.
The table top is octagonal and made from beveled glass – and I assume the original.
The lower glass plate is square, sitting on – and being held by the 4 horses tails.
Especially stunning are the bronze Gansu horses, which are cast after the original one of the Han Dynasty.
Treading on a swallow, it embarks on a journey into the sky, balancing all the weight on one foot only, keeping the perfect balance.
Patina of the bronzes is a mottled green, in accordance to the famous antique Chinese icon.
The golden detail is metal, presumably brass.
