Graves and Sons were listed at Fore Street, Plymouth in 1890 as general furnishers. Presumably they were allied to Sterling Graves, naval & military outfitters, who traded next door
This is a naval military desk, the top slots into little grooves at the back of each pedestal, you then have thick brass catches on top of the front of the pedestal which locks everything in place. The top drawer which looks to be three separate drawers is actually one large map drawer, you then have the standard three drawers either side
This is a genuine campaign used piece, its not a later reproduction, it’s been on tour, seen some action and has a wonderful period patina to match
We have cleaned waxed and polished them from top to bottom, it has various age and use related marks as you would expect, there is one piece of banding missing on the back left corner at the top of the left pedestal, otherwise its in wonderful order

Condition
Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition.
Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
