A striking pair of French 19th century Charles X st. black Belgian marble, patinated bronze and ormolu urns. Each urn is raised by a square black Belgian marble base with a fine bottom ormolu fillet and an elegant stepped design. Centering the bases are finely sculpted floral designs fitted with gold leaf. At the centers are circular mottled ormolu bands below the socle pedestals decorated with fine foliate designs. The outstanding bodies display beautiful and richly chased swaging berried laurel garlands tied with lovely ormolu ribbons. To each side are finely detailed maidens with most decorative scrolled foliate movements and les oves patterned bands extending along the top. Above are ormolu acorn finials centered by seashell reserves and foliate designs. All original gilt and patina throughout.
