A superb and very rare antique pencil shop display case by e.wolff & son falcon pencil works london s.w. Made for royal sovereign pencils as a shop display advertising stand, made from pine, with three inclined display shelves and further 2 drawers to base at the back, the header has the wording by appointment to h.m. The king royal sovereign pencils. The makers name e.wolff & son ltd falcon pencil works. London .s.w. is clearly painted in gold on the front of this display case. C1865 e. Wolff and sons was founded in 1796. Their products were extremely popular and found in markets all over the world. The falcon pencil works opened in 1878 but closed in the early 1920s after a merger with b. S. Cohen to become royal sovereign pencil company limited. this is a very rare piece of stationary history, made by appointment for h.r. The king, this fine piece remains in complete original working condition and retains some of the original pencils by e.wolffs.
