Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this stunning, late 17th century, hand caved 1684 lift top writing work table traditionally used for bible storage <\/p>\n

A very decorative piece, it is super collectable having the original date carved to the front with nice decorative carvings to the side. In a modern context this is the best kind of antique because not only is it beautiful, its functional, it still has a use today, the storage section can comfortably fit any modern laptop along with books and work apparatus, its really a very utilitarian desk <\/p>\n

It has all the original fixtures and fittings, the hinges are especially decorative being hand hammered and finished with wrought iron nails <\/p>\n

We have cleaned waxed and polished the desk from top to bottom, apart from normal age-related patina it’s in fine order throughout. <\/p>\n
