A Scottish, oak ecclesiastical bench seat with Pugin-esque taste, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.<\/p>\n<p>Superb in proportion and finish, with overtones of Augustus Pugin&#8217;s gothic revival sensibilities<br \/>\nDisplays a desirable aged patina and in very good order<br \/>\nStrong Scottish oak shows fine grain interest and an abundance of medullary rays<br \/>\nBeautiful caramel hues beam beneath a wax polish finish<\/p>\n<p>Prominent carved trefoils adorn the apex of the stout stile supports<br \/>\nTwenty panel back rest beneath a full-width top rail with rolled edge<br \/>\nLower legs finished with subtle shoulder carvings<br \/>\nStanding upon a trio of deep trestle feet, the central leg with concave profile<\/p>\n<p>This is a delightful antique pew, with large proportion and superb seat width and height for several people to sit comfortably. Ideal for an institution, a hall way or in front of a large dining table.
