The chest is from circa 1790 which is the Swedish Gustavian era, otherwise known as neoclassical. Typical to the period this chest has original hardware and original handles on all short end sides. The two-pieced construction was a common practice during the late 1700s and the side handles are for carrying each chest. The paint is original and untouched by everything but time which has created the natural and authentic patina. There are some signs of use and distress however on the paint. Healthy and solid frame. Minor dry cracks along the sides.
