A group of two antique textile fragments from China, circa 19th century Qing dynasty, professionally preserved and displayed in giltwood frames. Originally they adorned the “patch work” robe, worn by actors for opera performance. The one with the branched flower mostly employed satin stitches while the one on the green mat shows couching stitches as well.
\nProvenance: Purchased from Norton’s Oriental Galleries in Newport, Rhode Island. Fully labeled with note on the back as shown.
