Drilling in the so called Amsterdam School style. This chair was made around 1918 when the Amsterdam School style was at its apogee. The chair shows the typical forms of the School in the front stands and the backrest. The sides of the chair are more strict but still have some decorations by means of black wooden vertical stripes and a soft arch form on the downside &#8211; all sides have these arch forms on the downside. Both front stands are decorated with refined woodcuts on the upper. The original upholstery was replaced by this velour in the 1970s. This upholstery was made by a studio in Amsterdam which makes very exclusive fabric. This upholstery combines Art Deco with modern forms. You could say that the chair and fabric were made for each other. It&#8217;s a perfect match.
